On May 5, the Director of Photography for Blockbuster posted a photo on Instagram of a camera in front of a Blockbuster store. However, it looks like production was still in progress on May 2 because Melissa Fumero posted an Instagram story saying that filming is almost done. Production started sometime at the end of February 2022 with a tentative wrap date on May 2.

Now the full cast list has been released. In February 2022, Netflix announced that Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Melissa Fumero had joined the cast.
